This Clown Has A Few Things To Say About Being A Life Coach…
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the one, the only, Olivier Renaud.
(Drum Roll. Red nose squeak.)
Oli is in our Improvisation For Life Workshop Certification Program right now and he is going to knock your socks off.
Which is a problem.
If, say, you’re a clown and you need to keep your giant floppy shoes on.
This former Cirque De Soleil acrobat, clowning maestro, and self-help workshop-leader freakin’ genius is absolutely killing it, and we decided to share his experience with you, in his own words:
My experience with the “Improvisation For Life” Workshop Certification Program with Katie Goodman was nothing short of pivotal at this point in my career. To attend the 3-day workshop I had to travel from Toronto to New York, which I narrow-mindedly saw as too costly both in time and money. But after having spoken to Katie during our one-on-one talks something inside of me knew it was crucial we meet and work together. This wasn’t just an investment, it was an invitation to grow.
So, I hopped on a bus and 14 hours later was in the Big Apple. I was tired but excited. The people I met at the workshop were kind, driven, fun and incredibly interesting. The workshop became this place of creative effervescence where ideas could exchange freely.
Katie brings everything she has to maintain a dynamic and enthusiastic atmosphere: she has a 6th sense for knowing when we need to get up and play or sit down to clarify certain themes and concepts. She is constantly listening and making sure there is no confusion. This is a funny thing to add, but, she also makes sure our needs are met: there was coffee, tea, and kombucha! Katie even brought in treats after lunchtime. I took note of this. It’s a kind and generous touch in a world which seems to want to cut down on frills.
In her big-hearted way, Katie models how to Take Action. After the workshop I went back home and reflected on the importance of taking risks, which is something Katie talks about in her “Ready, Fire, Aim” principle. It inspired me to want to build my business in an improvisational way, which of course is what we are learning to teach. It made me energized to think of the change I want to bring to the world.
Since our training weekend, I’ve been waking up earlier and putting much more energy into building my corporate workshop business. It takes work. Katie taught me how to do it and showed me that I can do it. And now I’m doing it! And thanks to Katie and the 4 month training, I’m not doing it all on my own in the dark: I’m building it with knowledge, careful creative planning and rabid enthusiasm!
